"Though drawn to the chaotic weaving of branches and vines, in my works I attempt to 'order' nature and impose structure and definition where randomness and irregularity rule." Influenced by the woods around her, she says she enjoys using discarded organic materials - dead twigs and old rope - and contrasting them with synthetic materials or configurations.
Ms. de Neergaard attended Bennington College, Bennington, VT and received a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. She has exhibited her work widely in New York and New England. Presently, she is Children's Librarian at the Cornwall Library in Cornwall, Connecticut.
